Katy Blum began her yoga journey in San Francisco in 2003 after giving birth to her first child. Hoping to find balance as she transitioned into motherhood she practiced Bikram, Meditation, and was trained in Energy Holding. Katy discovered that her practice provided stability, helped heal any physical, emotional, and mental crises that arose, and encouraged a deeper connection with herself, others, and beyond.
After relocating to Madison, WI, and having a second child, her love of yoga broadened into a curiosity for various styles including Vinyasa, Yin, Power, Kundalini, and Restorative Yoga. Katy decided to turn her passion into a career so she could share what she had experienced with others. Katy is a 200 hour E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), certified in Power Yoga through Bryan Kest, a certified Yoga Life Coach, a certified Teacher’s Assistant as well as a Reiki Practitioner.
In 2015 she founded Blue Soul Yoga and Wellness Center to offer people a space to explore and deepen their practice. In 2017 Katy founded The Blue Soul School of Yoga to encourage and support others on their journey of self-discovery and transformation through the study of yoga.
Katy offers a guided yoga practice that is both joyful and peaceful; helping others cultivate self-awareness, self-acceptance, strength, and compassion. She encourages her students to focus on breathing and turning inward to experience a meditation in motion. Katy is currently in training to become a Spiritual Facilitator and working on writing her first book.
Blue Soul Yoga and Wellness Center was created with the intent to provide a safe and welcoming environment allowing students to explore and deepen their yoga practice.
